Short summary

G1 Mentor is operated by Abu Rayhan Shojib, doing business as Binarycube IT ("we", "our", or "us"), and provides a mobile study app for Ontario G1 test preparation. By using the app, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Information we collect

Information you provide

• Email address, used for one-time passcode sign-in and account communication.
• Name or display name, if you add it during setup.
• Province, exam date, exam time, daily question goals, and daily mock exam goals.
• Support messages you send to us.

Study and app activity

• Questions answered, selected answers, scores, mock exam attempts, accuracy, streaks, weak areas, and completed daily tasks.
• Bookmarks for questions and road signs.
• Study plan generation, AI coaching tips, and progress data.
• Notification status, unread notification counts, and push notification tokens when notifications are enabled.

Technical information

• Device type, operating system, app version, language, approximate region, network status, and diagnostic logs.
• Crash reports and performance data through Sentry or similar error monitoring tools.
• Advertising identifiers and tracking permission status where allowed by your device settings and applicable law.

Guest mode

You can use parts of G1 Mentor as a guest. Guest activity may be stored locally on your device and may be lost if you uninstall the app or clear app data. Some features require sign-in so progress can be saved to your account.

How we use information

• To create and secure your account using email one-time passcodes.
• To show your progress, mock exam results, streaks, bookmarks, and weak areas.
• To generate and update your personalized study plan and AI-powered study tips.
• To send optional study reminders, app notifications, and service messages.
• To provide support, diagnose bugs, improve app quality, prevent abuse, and protect the app.
• To display ads, measure ad performance, and keep the app free where advertising is enabled.
• To comply with legal obligations and app store requirements.

Third-party services and sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information with service providers that help operate G1 Mentor, including:

• Backend hosting, database, and API providers for account and progress storage.
• Email delivery providers for sign-in codes and service messages.
• Expo, Apple, Google, or Firebase services for app delivery and notifications.
• OpenAI for generating study-plan insights and coaching tips from your exam date, study goals, quiz performance, weak areas, and plan progress.
• Sentry for crash reporting and performance diagnostics.
• Google Mobile Ads / AdMob for ad delivery and ad measurement.
• Apple App Store and Google Play for app distribution, downloads, and platform-level reporting.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate abuse, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition.

Advertising and tracking choices

G1 Mentor may show ads through Google Mobile Ads / AdMob. Depending on your device, region, and consent choices, ad partners may use device identifiers, approximate location, app activity, and ad interaction data to deliver or measure ads.

On iOS, the app may request App Tracking Transparency permission before tracking across apps and websites. You can change this in iOS Settings. On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Google settings where available.

Data retention and security

We keep account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the app. If you delete your account, we aim to delete or anonymize personal account data within 30 days, except where longer retention is required for security, legal compliance, fraud prevention, or backups.

We use reasonable safeguards such as encrypted transport, secure token storage, limited access controls, and operational monitoring. No internet service can guarantee perfect security.

Your choices and rights

• Access, correct, or update account information in the app where available.
• Disable notifications in your device settings or app settings.
• Change advertising and tracking choices in your device settings.
• Request access, correction, export, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us.
• Delete your account from the Profile section if that option is available, or contact support for help.

We will respond to privacy requests within a reasonable time and may need to verify your email address before acting on account-specific requests.

Children's privacy

G1 Mentor is designed for learners preparing for an Ontario G1 licence. The minimum age to apply for a G1 licence is generally 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app changes or legal requirements evolve. When we update it, we will revise the effective date above. Material changes may also be announced in the app or by email.
